[ He accepts the sidelean in silence. It's the accepting sort, just agreeing that yeah, he got pretty stinking mad. ]

[ looks up at him ]

Still mad?

[ A pause. ]

No. Yes. Maybe? I'm not sure.

I am still mad. Charlie is dead. Regardless of anything else, that much is true -- I looked at her corpse.

But I don't know how to feel about everything else around today.

[noirges]

[ nods ]

... I feel a lot of the same. I think I want to make sure to talk to Jing Yuan to figure out... any of what happened.

But it won't change that Charlie's dead, and I miss her already.

[boxcar]

[ He huffs. It's slightly derisive. But there's also a cautious hesitance to it. ]

I guess I should pay him a visit too.

[ Because what the fuck. But he glances down at Yves. ]

I miss her too.

[noirges]

[ places a hand on marcoh's arm ]

... only if you want to, even if it's just to try to understand.

[ and not attack... ]

But... I'm going to miss her forever, for the rest of my afterlife and then some. I'll probably miss Jing Yuan the same way, since he's getting... expelled.

[boxcar]

I won't punch him. I don't beat down someone who is defenseless.

[ He just. Assumes Jing Yuan would be tied up or something along those lines. Bars intensify instead. ]

I don't understand it. Did she offend him somehow? To boldly declare his consciousness was clear...

I think... that's what I want to know.

[ softly ]

... he told me that there's someone he wants to see again. That he has to go home and return to life. So if there's something at play here that made him risk that...

[ a tilt of his head ]

I think it has to be something really important.

[boxcar]

I don't claim to know him at all, but I don't think he's stupid.

[ So yeah. To just throw it away on a whim, on Charlie, someone so loveable and loved...? That's a comical villain turn if he ever heard one. ]

[noirges]

[ nods in agreement ]

So... that's what I'm trying to get, more than anything else.

Even with all the grief and the sadness and the heartbreak... I'd like to just have some truth.

[boxcar]

There's no undoing it.

The next best thing we can get is closure, right?

[ Something, anything, to shave off bits of the guilt. ]

[noirges]

[ nods ]

Ideally.

The heartache's going to take a while to heal... but it'll never get there if we don't have at least a little more information as to why.

[boxcar]

...Yeah.

[ His energy fizzles out for now. He's tired, a rare state. ]

[noirges]

[ . . . leans a little more against marcoh ]

You can lean on me too, you know. I'm not gonna topple like a twig or anything.

[ He looks unsure but he kind of. Slowly shifts a little weight on him. A little bit! Like he doesn't just take Yves's confidence on the spot for granted. ]

[ marcoh you are so funny

he's not a useless twink so it's okay. he'll actually wind his arm with marcoh's so they're interlocked as if to encourage it ]

See? I can support you too.

When things get hard to carry.

[ He's quiet. And at least, he'll relax a little. ]

[ ...He drinks. He's bad at relishing alcohol. But it's nice. I ASSUME? Yves feels like he'd have good wine taste. ]

Hopefully this does not cause unrest.

[ Surely after once, it wouldn't happen again. But what does he know. People do strange things under pressure and panic. ]

... I think life always takes a while to adjust after tragedy. [ just from what he's seen ] The afterlife is probably the same.

But... I do think people care enough about each other here to try to heal, even so.

I hope so.

Sticking together is probably the best thing we can do for her memory.

[ smiles a little bit ]

Right? It's what she would've wanted.

So... I'd like to hold onto that, even still. In what little ways I can help people, just like Charlie.

I can ask the angels... I was going to send it out to everyone who was with us tomorrow anyway. Do you want it now?

The same time as everyone else is okay.

I just don't know much about how the phone photos work. Having one real... uh, normal? One would be nice.
