[ obligatory fit check instead of sexy angel costume! though at least now i can mention that yves was probably covered in bandages beneath his angel costume earlier so it wasn't even that scandalous. if nothing else, it just shows that the lace half mask he was wearing wasn't just part of the costume - it's an outfit staple. yay!

it's time for the BAR YAY!! yves is already behind the counter like he's picked up a new job to work, and he's waving happily over at marcoh once he comes in ]

Marcoh! Come on in! Want something to drink? Oh hey, I hear you're rooming with my teacher!

[ You did mention that I do remember. I am mobile stuck forever so no image link but he's dressed something along the lines of his canon wear. He had to look hard to find stuff in his size because the store runs smaller canonically. He's that 'hey I got this shirt in size XL and I think it might be a bit too small' meme now. ]

[ Honestly he's thinking Archipelago but that's probably wrong. ]

Me, Monsieur Lucas, and Adolphe are all from the same place. We're friends! Even though I wish we weren't dead friends together. [ just to acknowledge that, even though he's otherwise seeming chipper about it ]

You all came together? Was it the same thing, the sacrifice?

[ This seems like a lot of dead people for a noble sacrifice. ]

No... They died before I did, couple years. Different causes.

[ he won't go into detail because that's their business, but he can at least clarify ]

Ah... I don't know whether to say I'm glad or not... Well, you at least have me to rely on if you need anything or are looking for a helping hand.

A couple of years? But you woke up here together?

[ Then again someone told him they're from 2016. WILD year to consider. ]

Strange, isn't it? And... we don't all remember the same series of events before we died. [ though again, not really his business to tell ]

But they're still my friends. I know that. It just... doesn't all line up quite right.

It's not good, but maybe it is a sort of blessing to have familiar faces you can rely on.

They both seem like good men. You too.

You can get me anything that sounds good. I'm not picky.

Hmm... I'm a handyman who takes up a bunch of different work orders—though I've fulfilled requests at the taverns before. They say they prefer when I'm a helper than when I'm a customer!

[ a little joke, and then he'll look around before going to pull two mixed drinks!! different ones, just to enjoy variety. ]

How about? What'd you do before we ended up here?

[ he doesn't bring attention to the pause if marcoh doesn't want to... slides the mixed drink over to him ]

[ He accepts the drink with a nod. ]

I did. It paid better than most everyman jobs I worked. I probably spent more time fighting than working anyway. I was better at it too.

Ooh, do you have any stories from your boxing days? Any championship titles?

[boxcar]

It was the underground sort. But I did have a winning streak.

So you were the strongest...

Ay. It was important that I keep winning. I trained hard to come out on top.

You know, now that I think about it, you're about as tall as my old teacher who taught me and Adolphe how to fight. He's the strongest person I've ever known, too.

Strength doesn't come from nowhere. I owe a lot to my coach too.

Do you fight often? I saw Adolphe has a sword.

Mm-hmm! Adolphe's in charge of the Corps in our country... It's a people's militia to protect the public since the Royal Guard are often [ a beat ] preoccupied.

He's the strongest, but I don't think I'm too shabby either.

[boxcar]

Corps... that means you are soldiers?

[ He nods once, slow over his drink. ]

Take responsibility in your own hands when others can't. It sounds commendable.

Ahaha, it was actually our teacher who started it... Even though he was a nobleman from Chedis, he wanted to make sure that we had people who would be able to protect even the poorer districts in Coene if trouble arose.

[ and trouble always arises! ]

But... you're right. I'm proud to be able to protect others in my country.
