I was out at the ocean just before midnight, but I got back and was going to take a shower since I fell. When I was there, there were already a lot of people...

[ yves will bring out his phone to show a stupid selfie. in the picture there's also charlie, adolphe, lucas, elysia, shadowheart, anders, hawke, marcoh, richie, and claude just at the bathroom/showers. ]

But when we tried the door, it was locked and we couldn't leave. Even with me, Adolphe, and Marcoh kicking it - it didn't budge. When I tried to text you, it didn't work. Same for others' texts.

I thought we should sleep in shifts just in case but... for some reason, I think we all just - fell asleep? All of a sudden?

[outdistanced]

[ leans in to see the picture, eyes lingering on charlie. ]

Like, from the outside? [ WEIRD. ] I didn't think the doors were that strong, either... I just thought you'd be back later, after I fell asleep.

[ this is where i have to tell you that laurence probably sleeps around eleven or so anyway just out of sheer habit from the tower curfews. he didn't even notice. ]

All at once? How does that happen?

I did plan on being back later... [ a little pouty, he wouldn't have left laurence alone if he thought there would be any chance of danger ]

But... I'm not sure. Marcoh was going to stay up too, but then he ended up falling asleep.

It's bizarre, and then when we woke up... Charlie was gone.

[outdistanced]

[ nods slowly... ]

And they said they found her on the beach. That's... kind of a long way to go in the middle of the night, isn't it? I wonder why she'd have gone out there in the first place.

[noirges]

Right... She's smarter than just going out for a midnight swim.

[ frowns... ]

So... I don't know. I think we have to look at all possibilities, whether it be an accident or something worse happening. But just in case, if you're going out somewhere by yourself at night for the next while, just let me know?

I'll go with you.

Okay. I'll let you know. [ ... ] When you say "something worse," what do you mean, exactly?

[ certainly not murder? in a murdergame? ]

I don't want to assume the worst... but until we're sure, I think we should be careful. Maybe there's something dangerous around here that we didn't see for the past few days.

Isn't Heaven supposed to be safe? There shouldn't be anything dangerous here at all.

[ and he'll move to put his arm around laurence's shoulders then, a little protectively and a little out of concern for him ]

... I know. Just... a precaution, until we get in touch with the angels again.

[ he leans into it. ]

They said we'll reconvene tomorrow. So we won't have to wait that long.

I guess. I just don't know what we're supposed to do until tomorrow.

... I don't know either. I might go see if I can investigate a few places and see if there's been anything left behind...

I know you're used to all kinds of things, but you shouldn't do anything dangerous either, Yves.

[ he smiles, this time a little wider. he turns to give laurence a hug for real for real ]

[ the last time a character of yours said this to one of my teens they immediately turned around and died.
