Oh yes, poor you, suffering soul! [He'll reach up and pinch his cheek, like a cloying aunt at a family reunion.] Don't you worry, honeychile! I'll give that boy a what for, I'll turn him front to back, I'll shoo him into next Tuesday for you! You bet your fur I will!
[He'll settle back into his seat and take another drink.]
So it's a happy ending after all. Three peas in a pod.
What did you get up to, if you weren't, ah, "volunteering" for the Corps?
[ NOT THE CHEEK PINCH YVES LOOKS SO CONFUSED FOR A MOMENT BECAUSE PEOPLE NORMALLY ARE TOO AFRAID TO TOUCH HIS FACE - but afterwards, he just beams and laughs as he rubs at his cheek. that was actually very nice and refreshing for him... ]
Wahh, thank you for your defense, Monsieur Richie!
[ hehe... ]
Ah, I'm the owner of Courrune, a guild of handymen. We pick up any job that people might need doing if they need help. Babysitting, gardening, repairs, fishing, finding lost items... you name it!
[There is very little that stands in the way of Richie being a fucking pest. Also it might occur to him later that the kid is a little head-shy, considering. In the moment, he's doing it all for the bit.]
That's a pretty broad range. You guys make good money, picking up all those odd jobs?
[He was about to ask if he wants to keep doing it, but remembered quite abruptly that there's an age cap on his island. Even if Yves hadn't kicked it early, there wasn't much point in planning for a future, now was there?
He takes another sip of his drink, ignoring the uneasy twist of his gut.]
Hmmm.... Sometimes? It depends on the job, and how much money someone has to pay us in the first place. I try not to take advantage of them when they're already in need of help.
[ their income fluctuates wildly, though yves doesn't seem too bothered by it ]
Hugo wanted to help me become a Reliver, so he helped made sure that I at least charged enough to get closer to that goal...
