[ WOW IT'S THE BEACH. yves is loving it here! he's rolled up the cuffs of his pants and pushed up his sleeves, abandoning his coat to just welcome the sweet spray of the ocean. he inhales the next sea breeze that comes, and hums softly to himself as he exhales. looking out at the big ocean, he talks to himself - or to someone not quite here ]

It's almost like home... I hope you're not too mad at me for going ahead, Hugo.

[ though when he notices someone approaching, he'll turn and offer up a grin ]

[ aaand his arms are opening for a hug even though jing yuan is so much taller okay hi there ]

I was talking to Hugo... the first! Even though he can't hear me, but it's hard not to miss someone I've been around everyday for years.

he smiles when he sees yves. there isn't much behind it. ]

he hasn't forgotten what yves had told him about their deaths, that day on the beach. but even so... ]

[ just. the fondest sigh in the world. hugo is such a homosexual and yves still isn't thinking about it ]

... it seems like far too many of us have had to say goodbye to our friends.

Even still... I'm sorry, Jing Yuan. He seemed dear to you.

...Unfortunately. [ he knows he isn't the only one who has experienced loss, but he does appreciate the sentiment. there's warmth in the emoshare, and some quiet melancholy. ]

Thank you. He was. Dan Feng was not quite the partner that you and Hugo were, but... It was reassuring to fight by his side, in the days that we did.

[ . . . hearing the comparison does get yves' heart to ache that much more. his own hugo is alive and (hopefully?) well, but he remembers another timeline where that wasn't the case. he will just reach to take jing yuan's hand in his own ]
